Equal Pay Day

The Equal Pay Day (EPD) is the international day for equal pay regardless of gender.

The Equal Pay Day symbolically stands for the gender pay gap. According to the Federal Statistical Office, this gap currently amounts to 21 percent for Germany which equals 77 days of unpaid work for women.

Assuming men and women received the same wage per hour: The Equal Pay Day would then mark the day, up to which women worked unpaid, while men were getting paid from January 1^st. Thus, this year’s Equal Pay Day took place on March ^06th, 2024.
