Equal Opportunity Plan
The Equal Opportunity Plan (2019-2021) is an instrument of higher education development and at the same time part of human resource policy. As a result, it is consistently integrated into the university’s development planning as well as into the strategic planning.
In accordance with paragraphs 15 and 16 of the Act on Equal Treatment of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsisches Gleichberechtigungsgesetz (NGG)) as of December 09th, 2010, every department with at least 50 employees must develop an Equal Opportunity Plan. These first plans had to be submitted by December 31st, 2011. Each plan is valid for 3 years. At the end of the validity period, a new plan needs to be developed. In accordance with §41 of the Higher Education Act of Lower Saxony (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz (NHG)) the Presidium and the Senate decide on the Equal Opportunity Plan. So far, three Equal Opportunity Plans (2010 – 2012, 2013 – 2015, 2016 – 2018) have been passed by TU Clausthal. Thus, the current Equal Opportunity Plan is the fourth version and is valid from 2019 to 2021.
